WATCH: The super Touchdown PACHECO made that makes Chiefs won after vomiting on sideline….
In one moment, Kansas City Chiefs running back Isiah Pacheco was curled up in a ball on the sidelines vomiting. Then a few minutes later, quarterback Patrick Mahomes was pushing him into the endzone to pad the Kansas City lead.
Pacheco took the first play from scrimmage after halftime against the Baltimore Ravens for five yards before hustling off the field, seemingly hurt.
Team officials circled the Chiefs running back as he proceeded to vomit all over the sideline, according to onlookers. Pacheco, often a three-down back, was briefly replaced in the Kansas City backfield by the newly signed Samaje Perine.
Pacheco emerged a few moments later and punctuated the Kansas City drive with a one-yard rushing score to put the Chiefs up 20-10.
They would need every point they could get: Kansas City held on in a 27-20 nailbiter after Isaiah Likely’s touchdown catch for Baltimore as time expired was a toenail out of bounds.
On the day, Pacheco rushed for 45 yards on 15 carries (including the touchdown). He added two catches for a further 33 yards.
The Chiefs selected Pacheco in the seventh round of the 2022 NFL Draft out of Rutgers. He didn’t have the best stats at school, never topping 750 rushing yards or eight touchdowns in any of his four NCAA seasons.
He surprisingly emerged as the lead back in the Kansas City backfield midway through the 2022 season and ended up starting in Super Bowl LVII against the Philadelphia Eagles, rushing for 76 yards and a touchdown in the 38-35 victory.
